I am an artist now and graduated with a BFA and a BA, but when I was twelve and I had done my first real painting with Deanna at one of her workshops I couldn’t stop crying the whole way home. I had no idea why! My mom called Deanna and asked if she knew what was happening and she said that I was moving into a different stage, a new level and that sometimes that means a lot of crying. Looking back, that was when my soul found art again and knew it had found something dear.
Ever since then it seems that every major transition in my life has been helped along by Deanna and the wisdom she can access. High school boyfriends were in part demystified and my transition to college 3,000 miles from home was helped greatly. Deanna was able to help identify sacred spaces on my new campus where I could recharge and be grounded that really impacted me through my entire college career.
As I transitioned into living more as an adult, the things Deanna helped me with became more complex in turn. During a birthday reading she helped me create personal rituals for bringing light and fun into my otherwise oppressive study/class/work schedule. When I had a minor breakdown due to all I was trying to do she helped me get back on track and find balance in my life.
My cat, Phoebe, has also undoubtedly been helped. Deanna was able to tell me we had been together before, giving words to what I could feel was true. When Phoebe was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism Deanna was there to give advice and when Phoebe felt left out when all of her moms were cooking in the kitchen Deanna was the one to let me know and tell me to leave a chair in there for her.
More recently, Deanna has helped me figure out health concerns that western doctors had no explanation for and guided me through starting to heal myself. It is impossible for me to recall every instance in which Deanna has helped me, there are simply too many. What I do know for certain is that she has had a huge positive impact on my life and I could not recommend her more highly.
